Uses of Coconut

  1. If you want to break coconut exactly in middle then put it in water and then break.
  2. You can store raw coconut for a week but applying little lemon juice.
  3. If you don’t want to get smell out of coconut oil which is stored for many days then put some stone salt in it.
  4. If using desiccated coconut in place of fresh coconut, soak it in a bowl with equal proportions of warm milk and water for about half an hour and then grind. It will taste as good as ground fresh coconut.
  5. Coconut milk when kept overnight in the fridge forms a white layer on top. This layer can be used as fat instead of oil for frying mutton or chicken.
  6. To keep coconut milk fresh for few hours. Add pinch full of salt to it.
  7. If coconut oil becomes hard keep it in sun or keep bottle in warm water to make it soft.
  8.   Apply salt to coconut after breaking to avoid discoloring.
  9. To prevent fresh coconut milk from turning rancid add a pinch of salt to it. This will help preserve it for a few hours.
